Yaroslava Mahuchikh, Olympic champion and World record holder at the high jump, is competing tomorrow night at the Banskobystricka latka high jump meet (WIT Silver), and it can be seen via streaming video (of course, some geo block stuff)! BANSKÁ BYSTRICA (SVK): Yaroslava Mahuchikh will seek her fourth title in the on 18 February. Mahuchikh, who cleared 2.06m at this meeting in 2021, faces a field including 2022 world outdoor champion Eleanor Patterson from Australia and last year’s winner Angelina Topic, experienced jumpers Jamaica’s Lamara Distin and Morgan Lake of Great Britain, as well as 17-year-old Lilianna Bátori of Hungary.

Olympic champion and world record holder, in her second and last start before the European and World Indoors, will try to improve at least the world leading mark. The men’s field includes two-time winner Sanghyeok Woo from South Korea against the likes of Cuba’s Luis Enrique Zayas, Mexicans Edgar Rivera and Erik Portillo, and Japan’s Naoto Tobe. 2007 World champion Donald Thomas of Bahamas is going to make his last and record 10th appearance in Banská in his final competitive season. The event will be streamed live on the European Athletics YouTube channel.
