BOSTON (USA, Feb 15): Fast distance races at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational also by women in Saturday’s program. Canada’s Lucia Stafford won the 1 mile in 4:21.74 ahead of Danielle Jones (4:22.45) and Gabija Galvydyté (4:22.76, NR for Lithuania), fifth Şilan Ayyıldız clocked 4:23.46 (NR for Türkiye). Nozomi Tanaka clocked the Asian 5000m short-track record of 14:51.26 to win from Calli Hauger-Thackery (14:55.68), Australia’s Linden Hall (14:58.43 short-track NR) and Emily Venters (14:58.77). In the 3000m victory for Lauren Ryan of Australia (8:41.80) over Kenya’s Doris Lemngole (8:41.83). All reported results are overall lifetime bests.
