1. Exciting women’s hammer throw, Camryn Rogers takes second hammer throw gold for Canada in these Games!
2. Gabby Thomas was so impressive in her win over 200 meters!
3. The men’s 1,500 meter was a stunner! In only the third time since 1908, US Cole Hocker became only third US man to win the 1,500m in the Olympics (1908, 2016, 2024). And for first time since 1912, the US took two medals, Hocker in gold and Yared Nuguse in bronze in the 1,500 meters. Josh Kerr took the silver, upgrading from the bronze he took in 2021 in Tokyo. Jakob Ingebrigtsen, who has been pretty pompous, is now 3/3 in terms of winning 1,500 meters on global level since 2021. Perhaps he needs to change his attitude and approach.
4. Miltiadis Tentoglou of Greece, who has now won everything, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, three Europeans, and gold in Budapest, leaped 8.48m to take gold in the long jump. Wayne Pinnock, JAM took silver in 8.36m and Mattia Furlani, ITA, took bronze in 8.34m.
