The Fanny Blankers Koen Meeting is one of the most iconic events on the European circuit. A wonderful stadium, packed with local fans, and three hours of brilliant track and field from around the globe, plus the best of the Netherlands.
Femke Bol and Sifan Hassan will be featured stars, along with Mykolas Alekna, Dita Kambudji, Keely Hodgkinson, and Gong Lijiao.
The meet happens on Sunday, July 7, 2024 (not the normal June).
Bol and Hassan on home soil
HENGELO (NED): Home stars Femke Bol and Sifan Hassan will attract the crowds at the FBK Games (WACT Gold) on Sunday. Bol is set to compete in the 400m, while Hassan runs the 1500m and is also entered for the 10,000m on Saturday. Discus WR holder Mykolas Alekna faces Matthew Denny and Lukas Weisshaidinger. In the 100m hurdles, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn and Nia Ali take on the European elite of Dita Kambundji, Pia Skrzyszowska, and Nadine Visser. At the same time, Cyréna Samba-Mayela is a late withdrawal, having failed to recover sufficiently from a recent bout of coronavirus. Keely Hodgkinson is challenged by Prudence Sekgodiso in the 800, Andre De Grasse and Ferdinand Omanyala clash in the 100m, and Chase Jackson and Jessica Schilder are challenged by the Olympic champion Gong Lijiao. Entries also include Ekaterini Stefanidi (pole vault), Gina Lückenkemper (100m) and Hugues Fabrice Zango (triple jump).
