Larry’s Deep Thoughts:
We are about 19 days away from the US Olympic Trials.
The Trials are one of the finest competitions in the world, and for Americans who desire to compete in Paris, it is the only way to get there.
Each Olympic Trials ( I first learned about them in 1972) includes big surprises, huge upsets, and incredible performances.
Why?
Human nature!
The US has the best farm system for track and field in the world, 1.6 million high schoolers, 200,000 college athletes, 5,000 emerging elites, and some of the finest coaches in the world.
Today, some of the finest athletes in the US were doing their long runs as they put on final preparations for the 2024 US Olympic Trials.
Wish them luck!
