Larry’s Deep Thoughts:
Today is the 70th anniversary of the first sub-4 minute mile. It happened in front of 3,000 people at the Iffley Road Sports Track at the Univeristy of Oxford. Chris Brasher and Chris Chataway, the training partners of Roger Bannister took him through the 1320 and with 250 yards to go, Bannister was on his own.
The BBC video tells it all! Check it out and be inspired!
#OnThisDay in 1954, Sir Roger Bannister set a new world mile record of 3 minutes 59.4 seconds at the Iffley Road Sports Track.
It was the first mile ever run under 4 minutes.
