Larry’s Deep Thoughts:
On Saturday, May 25, 2024, Josh Kerr made history. He broke the British record for the mile, held since July 1985 by the one, the only, Steve Cram.
Josh Kerr did it from the front in a race with one of the finest fields of milers in 40 years. Kerr took the lead with 600 meters to go, in the style of
one Herb Elliott, the great Australian miler, who retired undefeated!
Josh ran 3:45.34, a fantastic time, in front of twelve thousand screaming fans in Hayward Field. This was the first race at the NIKE Pre for Josh Kerr, and as he builds to Paris, we should see some fireworks this summer.
We hope his long run on Sunday, May 26 was relaxed and enjoyable!
