This is a new attempt at programming. This is an audio podcast only, and it was done while I was driving 75 miles from Ras Al Khaimah to Dubai on February 26, 2024.
We have launched several podcast series, from #CoffeeWithLarry to #SocialingtheDistances, #AthleticsChats, #ConversationswithLarry, and now, #OntheRoad.

#OntheRoad is about delving into the event, providing some analysis, and, as many times as possible, being on the road to the event or on the return.
The RAK Marathon was held on February 24, 2024. I spent most of the week prior building social media and stories on our 8 websites, one blog, and 17 social sites from Ras Al Khaimah. The ability to be onsite gives this viewer fun interviews and back ground information that I am able to share with our listeners.
The RAK half Marathon was a wonderful event, my first time in six years. Now under new management, the race went off well, with 40 elite athletes. The two winners, Daniel Makeito and Tsigi Gebreselama, should be shaking up the world a bit this spring. Watch Tsigi compete at THE TEN in California on March 16, 2024, and Daniel Makeito in the London Marathon in April.
The Dubai Marathon and Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon give the United Arab Emirates two global events in two months. Pace Events’ ability to pull this event off with two months to go can not be underestimated.
I believe we will see great things from Daniel Makeito and Tsigi Gebreselama this year, one at the marathon (Daniel) and one at the 10,000 meters (Tsigi). A chance to speak with Tamirat Tola (with 1.1 million views on FB) and Benard Kigen on X (81,000 in hours) was fun and enlightening. I expect all 4 will play big parts in Paris.
Daniel Makeito has run two 30km segments of marathons, both in pacing the late Kelvin KIptum, the first in London 2023, and the second at Chicago 2023, where Kelvin broke the world record. Tsigi Gebreselama won the National Trials in Nairobi just prior to the RAK half marathon. A talented young athlete, Tsigi made a big presence at the World Cross Country last winter and took 4th in the World Half Marathon Championships.
Enjoy this #OnTheRoad podcast, and let me know what you think about it! Thanks to Brian Eder, co-founder of #RunBlogRun, on the production of the podcast.
