The Spar European Cross Country Championships were held in Brussels, Belgium, on Sunday, 10 December. Heavy rain had turned the course into a mud path as 10 countries took medals across the seven races. Great Britain, with 11 medals, topped the table from France (6) and Norway (4). See the separate report on GB’s magnificent day.
Yann Schrub (France) won the men’s senior race in 20:17 from Magnus Tuv Myhre (Norway), with Robin Hendrix third to gain a medal for the host nation. The women’s senior title went to Karolina Groval (Norway) in 33.40 from Nadia Battocletti (Italy), with Abbie Donnelly (GB) third.
