Across the US, there are cross-country invitationals in every city, big and small.
With 570,000 boys and girls competing in cross country this season, who will be part of the
next generation to be inspired by this most ancient of sports?
Racing is different in every state. I recall a cross-country duel meeting held between Bellarmine and Saint Francis at Stevens Creek Park. In the last 800 meters, we had to cross a raging creek full of rocks, mud, and such and come out standing up on the other side!
Your workout today is to warm-up well, do some stride outs, and race 5k, then a 30-minute moderate-paced run, ending with some stretching and a good cooldown.
