This is Friday, September 22, 2023.
This is an easy day.
Easy days allow your body to recover from the stress you induce on hard days.
If you do not have easy days, your body will not function well, and you will get sick, injured, or fail at your objectives, that simple.
Your body is a mortal engine, so appreciate that, it needs to be fed, hydrated, rested and stressed.
As I have my coffee in Lisbon today (I am on vacation, one day on the computer a day for two whole weeks), I think of your early season cross country races and recall a race at Parkway in St.Louis County in 1972, when my Dad got to see me race. After slogging nearly 2 miles, I saw my Dad and found a kick. It was amazing to find some energy at the end of a race!
Your workout today:
Warm-up, 45-55 minutes of running, 6 x 150 meter stride outs, cooldown.
