Rieti will host the U18 European Championships in 2026! The new surface will be a CONIPUR Vmax track from CONICA. The same track system that is installed at the Letzigrund Stadium in Zürich and at the Stade Louis II in Monaco.

The European Athletics U18 Championships is one of the most anticipated events on the European Athletics schedule.
Many of the finest European Athletes saw their starts at the U18 meeting. Athletes such as Femke Bol, Karsten Warholm, and Jakob Ingebrigtsen began their evolution to the world stage with the European Athletics U18 Championships.
Rieti, Italy, has always been an athletics town. For many years, the Rieti meeting gave the residents of this lovely city a chance to see some of the finest athletes in all of athletics, from Asafa Powell to Sebastian Coe.
Rieti was to have been the host of the 2020 European Athletics U18 championships, but that was canceled due to COVID.
When the European Athletics council made the decision to give Rieti the 2026 U18 championships, one of the key factors was the Rieti LOC’s enthusiasm to host the U18 once the pandemic had subsided.
As part of the LOC and FIDAL’s commitment to the event, they promised the EA council to develop build-up events to the EA Under 18 Championships.
The new surface from CONICA, a state-of-the-art facility, will be a wonderful site to host the 2026 European Athletics U18 Championships.
