This is Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Happy St. Valentines Day!
This is day two, of Week Seven of the 2023 RunBlogRun Winter Training Block.
Today is a Tuesday, so, it must be fartlek. Fartlek is Swedish, and it came down from Olympian Gosta Holmer, who was coaching
the Swedish cross-country team in the 1930s, and they were not performing well. So, Gosta, being the creative coach, figured out how
to get his athletes off the track and onto the wonderful trails in Sweden and build their endurance, strength and speed, as well as their confidence!
Fartlek means “speed play”, so get speedy!
Your workout today: Warm-up well, then, 15 minutes of moderate running, then, ten times one minute hard, one minute easy, then, 3 minutes hard, 3 minutes easy, 4 minutes hard, 4 minutes easy, . Breathe again, and then, a gentle fifteen minutes slow to moderate, then a gentle cooldown.
