This is Sunday, February 26, 2023.
This is Week 8, day seven of the 2023 RunBlogRun Winter Training Block.
Today is about the long run.
I recall running in Stevens Creek Park with my best friend, Bob Lucas, in 1975. We would
get up win the switchbacks with Rob Ripplinger, Danny Grimes, and Jeff Nicklin. The trails were wide and we could see
the turkey buzzards flying over our heads, wondering if they knew something we did not know.
The long runs were followed by grabbing something to drink at Bob’s house, with his Mom getting us something to drink and something to eat.
Yesterday, I took a long walk along the Rock River, looking for the bald eagles I saw a few days ago, wondering if they were back for spring.
Enjoy your long run or long walk today.
For your workout, today, warm up slowly, for 80-90 minutes, and cool down.
