The first Doha Marathon by Ooredoo was a success in Doha, Qatar. The marathon was held on January 20, 2023. The international team of Spencer Barden, Robert Wagner and John Nubani were key members of the team that put together this unique event in Qatar. Fast times, and good depth were the story for the premier Ooredoo marathon in Qatar.

Outalha and Belete won in Doha
DOHA (QAT, Jan 20): Morocco’s Mouhcine Outalha and Ethiopia’s Meseret Belete were top at the Doha Marathon by Ooredoo, WA Elite Label. Outalha came home in 2:06:49, just three seconds ahead of Gevin Kerich (2:06:52) from Kenya. It was even closer for the next two places as another Kenyan Victor Kipchirchir beat Ethiopia’s Adane Kebede, both at 2:06:54. Belete was just two seconds clear, with 2:20:45, if Bahrain’s Desi Jisa Mokonin as Beatrice Cheptoo was third on 2:22:28. The half-marathon races went to Anouar El Ghouz (63:23) and Arwa Aldossari (77:41).
