1. Kelvin Kiptum wins Valencia in his debut at the distance, at 2:01.53. Kiptum’s time is the third best time of all times.
2. All eyes were on Letensebet Gidey, and her debut. She lead thru 35k, when, Amane Beriso took the lead, winning in 2:14.58! Letensebet did set the debut record in 2:16.51 to finish second.
3. The Cal International was fantastic today! Top open men were Futsum Zeinsallassie won in 2:11.01, Jacob Thomson, 2:11.52 and Joel Reichow, 2:12.11.
4. In the top women positions at Cal International Marathon, Paige Stoner took win in 2:26.02, Lauren Hurley, 2:27.41, Elaina Tabb, 2:28.04.
5. Fitness Bank Champs was fantastic on Thursday in Austin, Texas. Edwin Kurgat, 23.28, and Alison Munson, 26:56 won the elite club races.
6. Nike Cross Champs on Saturday was won convincingly by Irene Riggs for the girls and Aaron Sahlman won the boys. Riggs was not a surprise, Sahlman had lost 4 of his last 5 races.
7. At the Iten Cross Country race, Irene Cheptai and Sebastian Kimaru were the winners, both races were 10k.
8. At the Champs XC regional West race, Sadie Engleheart and Samuel Henson won the girls and boys elite races.
9. Big 5000m at Boston U, with big times! In Men’s 5000m, Ky Robinson, Stanford won in 13:11.53, Eduardo Herrara, UA, 13:11.75, Alex Maier, 13;11.83.
In women’s 5,000m, Anne Rodenfels, BAA, 15:08.22 PB, Katelyn Tuohy, NC State, 15:15.92, Hilda Olemoni, Alabama, 15:17.97.

His first article, on Don Bowden, America's first sub-4 minute miler, was published in RW in 1983. Larry has published several magazines on athletics, from American Athletics to the U.S. version of Spikes magazine. He currently manages the content and marketing development of the RunningNetwork, The Shoe Addicts, and RunBlogRun.
