In mid-October, the New York Road Runners announced that the late Art Hall, the finest road runner in Staten Island history, was being inducted into the NYRR Hall of Fame in the Class of 2022 with Mary Keitany.
We thought it would be appropriate for our readers to remember Art Hall, who had been mentored by the late Ted Corbitt, and who had coached senior writer Jeff Benjamin, who will join this illustrious Hall of Fame.
This was The 50th NYC Marathon Rewind – Chapter # 1 – Remembering Art Hall, by Jeff Benjamin, for RunBlogRun. It was originally published in 2011.
Jeff Benjamin, who was coached by Art Hall, wrote this piece on Art, who passed away at the age of 64 in 2011. Art Hall played a huge part in the amazing movement that became the New York Road Runners.
