Cross country is a primal part of our sport. Most distance runners compete in the cross country around the world, even ones who do not like it. Cross Country builds strength and endurance and overcoming challenges give you pride in your development.
Recovery days are key. We have three of them each week. Some programs have 3 recovery days in one week and follow it up with 4 recovery days the following week. That makes a lot of sense to me.
Your workout today is a warm-up, then a 45-55 minute run, finish with 4 x 150-meter stride outs, and then a cooldown.
