It is day one of the sixth week of our Summer Cross Country Mileage Program. In the RunBlogRun Summer Mileage program, we help you build your endurance and strength so that you can handle the fall cross country season. Now, our program will not make the fall program easy, nothing good comes easy, but it will put you at a fitness level that allows you to benefit from the tough workouts that your coach will provide during the season.

Let talk about Eilish McColgan today. Eilish is a Scottish distance runner who started at the 1,500m, then, the steeplechase, then, the 5,000m, and now, at 10,000m took gold in the Commonwealth Games, an event her Mom (Liz) won some 36 years ago! Eilish came back and took silver in the 5,000m as well!
What changed? Eilish gritted it out in the 10,000m. If you watch the video you see that she wanted it so bad, and she sprinted like she had never done before to take the win.
Your workout today, is warm up, 45-50 minutes on trails, moderate, cooldown, and hydrate.
