Happy July 14th! It is Bastille Day in France and the birthday of our podcast production manager, Mike Deering!
Today is day 4 of week 2 of the RunBlogRun Summer Cross Country Mileage Program. We have done training programs online since 1998. Our ideas come from some of the finest coaches in the world. Our goal is to have you ready to roll when you begin your cross-country training for the fall.

One of the athletes you might now know about is Jimmy Gressier. Jimmy is the top French distance runner, with PBs at 2000m of 4:57.97 and recent PBs of 13:08.75 and 27:24.21 for the 5,000m and 10,000m, respectively.
Jimmy started out in football and moved to athletics. He is a fine cross country runner as well as a track athlete. He is also the European record holder for the 5k on the road.
Jimmy has a great sense of humor and is known for his amazing finishes in cross country races. Check this one out!

Jimmy Gressier is a gutty athlete and should be a player in the 10,000m. He also has the European Championships that he will compete at, happening August 11-22, 2022, in Munich, Germany. It will be an amazing event, to get tickets, click here.
Your workout for today, July 14, 2022 is warm up, 50 minute fartlek, five minutes hard, five minutes easy, five times, do it on flat ground today, but consider hills next week, cooldown.
