RunBlogRun presents
Socialing The Distance
with Larry Eder
Featuring Devon Allen,
2x Olympian,
4x US Champion & NIKE sponsored athlete
Devon Allen is a two-time Olympian. More than that factoid, Devon Allen has made two Olympic 110m hurdle finals. On June 12, 2022, Devon Allen had battled with Grant Holloway, with Devon going 12.84, a WL, and the #3 performance ever. Grant Holloway ran 13.06 in his opener.
Devon Allen spoke to me in April 2022. He is one of the most confident people that I have ever interviewed. Devon told me on June 12, that he had been training with the Philadelphia Eagles, four days a week and three days a week on track & field.
About two weeks before the NY Grand Prix, Devon Allen tested positive for COVID. Devon then took ten days of rest, and that is what the proverbial doctor ordered. Rested and over COVID, Devon Allen was ready to roll.
In NYC, Devon Allen had one of his best starts and was just behind Grand Holloway, who is known for his blazing first five hurdles. Allen came on the side of Holloway just after hurdle five and moved past him at hurdle seven. By hurdle eight, Devon Allen had broken away, and he flew over hurdles nine and ten. His brilliant sprint to the finish line gave him a 12.84, a world leader, a personal best, and the number 3 time of all times.
On Thursday, June 16, 2022, Devon Allen won the Oslo Bislett Games 110m hurdles in 13.22.
On Saturday, June 18, 2022, Devon Allen will be racing the 110m hurdles at the Paris DL, and it will be his last race prior to the USATF Championships.
Enjoy our interview with Devon Allen.
Special thanks to Devon Allen, and special thanks to Mike Deering, the creative and production manager for The Shoe Addicts, the digital partner of Fortius Media Group, LLC.
