Athletics Chat
Episode 100
Birmingham DL, May 21, 2022, photo by Diamond League AG
For the last 104 weeks, RunBlogRun has posted a series called Athletics Chat. The deal is that Larry Eder, based somewhere in the former colonies, and Stuart Weir, living in the intellectual capital of the world (Oxford, England) discuss the happenings in the sport. Mike Deering, the creative and production manager for The Shoe Addicts, manages the series for RunBlogRun.
This week, our topics include:
1. Birmingham Diamond League, just how good is Alexander Stadium
2. Will British Athletics accept lots of money to leave the Olympic Stadium and possibly move back to Crystal Palace?
3. The Nike Pre Classic, great performances in poor weather, but a minuscule crowd, lowest attendance in 30 years, what gives?
4. How will attendance be at the World Champs? Big question, where do you stay for $1000 a night (we are not making this up)?
