Emma Coburn won her tenth US steeplechase championship last weekend. Many wondered how Emma would be this year, after a tough time in Tokyo.
Lesson number 1: Never discount Emma Coburn. She is a steeple warrior.
I recall watching Emma Coburn break the AR for the first time in Glasgow in 2014, only problem was, that there was some discrepancy on the recording procedure like they did not plan a test for Emma after her AR.
In 2016, Emma took the Olympic bronze medal in the steeplechase. In 2017, Emma surprised many by winning the gold at the 2017 London WC gold medal, with Courtney Frerich taking the silver. In London 2019, Emma took the silver in the WC in Doha.
The pandemic was a challenge. But Emma came back, after a tough 2021, and she looked fantastic at the US champs, breaking the race open with 600 meters to go. Watch her in two weeks at the World Champs, July 15-24, 2022, in Eugene, Oregon.
Go get them, Emma !
Your workout today, June 30, is 30-minute walk, or 30-minute bike ride.
