Christian Coleman won the 60 meters last night at the 114th Millrose Games, with a time of 6.50. It was his first race since his life was turned upside down on June 17, 2020, due to a provisional ban for missed drug test from December 19, 2019. He was banned until May 22, 2022. Coleman had his ban changed to 18 months, on April 16, 2021, meaning his ban was up November 13, 2021.
Last night, January 29, 2022 was Christian Coleman’s first race since his ban. His first race in 20 months.

At the 114th Millrose Games, Christian Coleman had his first race since June 2020.
And he did it in style.
With a fantastic start, Coleman battled Trayvon Brommel, Noah Lyles, Josephus Lyles and Ronnie Baker.
Christian Coleman could not have chosen a better field for his opening race.
Christian Coleman won the 60m in 6.49. Trayvon Brommell, who had a fantastic 2021, opened well, but could not challenge Coleman and his robust start. Trayvon finished second in 6.50. Ronnie Baker finished third in 6.54. Noah Lyles ran 6.62, and Josephus Lyles ran 6.68.
Christian Coleman was all smiles after his race. In a short chat with RunBlogRun’s Jeff Benjamin, Christian Coleman told Jeff that he was very happy with his 60 meter run, “I felt them the whole way but I felt this was my race.”
And he should be.
Racing some of the finest sprinters in the land for the first time in 20 months, Christian Coleman shows us that he will be a force to be reckoned with in 2022.
