LOS ANGELES, CA. OCTOBER 12th, 2021 – Registration is now open for the 44th Annual Redondo Beach Super Bowl 10k Run & 5k Run/Walk, one of the largest and longest running 10k events in Southern California. The races take place on Sunday, February 13, 2022, in Redondo Beach. Akin to a great running party like Bay to Breakers, this event has a lengthy track record of being one of SoCal’s largest and most fun running events in America! Join us as we carry on the tradition.
The weekend event features a Health & Fitness Expo starting on Feb. 12th from 10 AM to 4 PM, and from 6 AM to 11 AM on race day, February 13th. The start/finish and Expo are at 200 Portofino Way. The race course will take runners along the scenic Redondo Beach harbor, Esplanade and waterfront, with the course ending at the Seaside Lagoon.
The Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce is proud to continue our annual races, and we are happy to announce that Mike Ward of Village Runner Racing is the new race director this year.
The Kid’s Fun Run begins at 7 AM, the 10k at 7:30 AM, the 10k Baby Buggy Run at 8:15 AM, and the 5k Run/Walk at 8:30 AM. Registration is now open at www.redondo10k.com. Entry fees for the 10k and 5k are $40, the Baby Buggy 10k is $40, and the children’s 1k fun run is $20. Prices will go up on December 1st.
All runners will receive a custom race shirt and finisher medal. Custom awards will be given to those who finish in the top three in each category, along with a tribute and special prizes for those runners who have competed in all the previous races.
Adding to the fun, a costume contest will take place during the event where the runners dress up in costumes that showcase their love for the big game and pop culture.
Past runners have included U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials Champion Mark Conover, Irish Olympic runner Regina Joyce, local runner Darcy Arreola, and U.S. Olympians Jeff Atkinson and Ruth Wysocki.
Following the races, runners (21 & over) can enjoy the beer garden while listening to live music at the Michelob Ultra Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach.
The Presenting sponsors for this year’s event are Kaiser Permanente along with Memorial Care Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital in Long Beach.
