Su Bingtian looked primed to win the 100m final in Tokyo with his exciting semi final PB run. Alas, It was Marcel Jacobs’ night. His 9.95 was a wonderful way for the top Asian male sprinter to end this exciting 2021 season.

XIAN (CHN, Sep 21): Asian 100 m record holder Su Bingtian won the 100 m in 9.95 (+0.1) over Xie Zhenye 10.10 during second day of athletics at Chinese National Games. Yang Lei further improved in the 400 m to 45.54 ahead of Zhang Jingzong 45.66 PB. Yao Jie cleared 580 PB to win the pole vault and Sun Qihao decathlon with life-time best score 7742 points. Duo Bujie was the best in the 10 000 m with 28:35.24. On the women side, Doha fifth placer Feng Bin topped the discus with 65.85 PB over Tokyo finalist Chen Yang 63.90. Former World U18 champion Tan Qiujiao won triple with 14.34 (+0.6) PB and 19-years old Lu Jiawen improved to 192 to win the high jump. Also women 400 m winner clocked a PB, Yang Huizhen with 51.63. Lin Yuwei achieved 100 m hurdles PB in heats 12.85 (+0.1). From Tilastopaja results.
