Chris Thompson has represented Team UK for 22 years. He began as a steepler, winning the U23 Euro title at 5000m, and taking the silver in the 2010 European Athletics outdoor champs at 10,000m.
At the age of 39, Chris won the Muller British Marathon Olympic Trials, in a PB of 2:10.52, just 4 days after his wife, Jemma Simpson, and Chris welcomed their son, Theo, into the world!
This was my longest zoom interview, as I have admired Chris and wanted our kind and patient viewers to learn about this amazing athlete.
Special thanks to Chris Thompson. Special thanks to Tom Bedford, and special thanks to Mike Deering for producing #socialingthedistance.
