KINGSTON (JAM, Mar 13): European 100 m champion Zharnel Hughes clocked 10.14 (-0.1) in the 100 m (equaled WL) at JAAA Qualifiers ahead of Oblique Seville 10.19. In another race, Yohan Blake clocked 10.29 (0.0). Another sprinter competing for Great Britain Miguel Francis won the 200 m in 20.51 (-1.5). In the 400 m among participants sprinters like Julian Forte (48.43) and Asafa Powell (50.32). World champion Tajay Gayle leaped to 777 (+0.9) in the long jump and Rasheem Broadbell clocked 13.71 (-1.8) in the 110 m hurdles. In women’s events, Shimayra Williams topped 100 m in 11.34 (-1.7) and Sada Williams from Barbados the 200 m in 23.08 (-0.6). Ronda Whyte was the best in the 400 m 51.82 and Shanieka Ricketts 13.93 (+0.9) in triple. Olympic winner Elaine Thompson-Herah tested in the 400 m with 56.26.
