Wayde Van Niekerk and Akane Simbine battled over the 200 meters today!
It was epic. Van Niekerk came off the turn, Wayde put it into another gear, and slowly moved past Simbini, who was battling to the finish.
The truth is this. To get back into world record shape, Wayde has taken 3 plus years to rebuild his fitness.
Will he get back to world record shape? I think so.
It is pretty amazing we have seen this journey back with Wayde to super stardom.
Van Niekerk 20.10 over Simbine 20.29
Thank you for who you are to me and for always being by my side for the past 8 years.
May this new journey be blessed for both you and I.
