The 50k is 31.06 miles. Des Linden is going to attempt the world record (3:07. 20). With Des Linden’s fitness, I think she can go 3:00-3:05. Des has the mentality to complete a quick 50k.

EUGENE (USA): Former Boston Marathon winner Desiree Linden will attempt to break the world 50km record in Oregon on a yet-to-be-determined date in April, informs Runner’s World. “I feel like I’m super fit, and like I just want to crush this record because I think it’s so attainable, but also, you have to absolutely respect the distance,” she said. The course will be roughly 6.5 miles out-and-back and Linden will be joined by a few pacers and some people racing a marathon. The current world 50km record stands to Brit Alyson Dixon at 3:07:20.
