FAYETTEVILLE (USA, Feb 7): Two World leads highlighted the third leg of American Track League indoor version. Olympic medalist Sandi Morris in pole vault showed superb shape. She cleared facility record 483 in first attempt, then in third also World leading 488 and tried three times at absolute World Record height of 507. Second Olivia Gruver 478 PB. World indoor champion 2016 Marquis Dendy got another World lead with 821 in long jump, behind him sensational improvement by Bahamian Laquarn Nairn who leaped to national record 816 (had before in his entire career only one 8+ jump, last indoor 802 in 2020). Another 2016 World indoor gold medalist Vashti Cunningham for first time in her career got indoor 200 cm in second attempt. Also stadium record and equalled her overall PB. She tried at US record height of 203. In the 60 m Ronnie Baker beat World leader Trayvon Bromell 6.53 to 6.58. In women 60 m Blessing Okagbare improved to 7.10 to win ahead of Jamaican Christania Williams 7.14 equalled PB and Teahna Daniels 7.17. Okagbare then won her 200 m race in 23.01 and missed the national indoor record by 0.01, but in other race Jenna Prandini 22.55 over Quanera Hayes 22.70. Olympic winner Omar McLeod won the hurdles final in 7.53 over Michael Dickson 7.58, in heats Swiss Jason Joseph 7.63. Two British wins were registered. Tiffany Porter (with face mask) 7.95 twice in heats and finals in women hurdles over Jamaican Brittany Anderson 7.96 and 7.97 as pre-race favorite Tonea Marshall false started in heats. Adelle Tracey topped the 800 m in 2:02.11 ahead of 15 years old super talent Sophia Gorriaran 2:02.44 PB. It is second best ever time indoors for that age group as Mary Decker (later Slaney) in the same age got 2:01.8 in February 1974. In the 400 m fast times for hurdler Shamier Little 51.33 and Michael Cherry 45.24. Algerian Takieddine Hedeilli won the mile in 3:56.79 PB over Nick Willis 3:56.82.
