TORUN (POL): World 110m hurdles champion Grant Holloway from the United States will look to extend his win streak in the 60m hurdles at the Copernicus Cup in Torun (WIT Gold) on Wednesday when he will have his sights on the meeting record of 7.48. He will face US teammates Aaron Mallett and Jarret Eaton and France’s Eurpean leader Wilhem Belocian who has clocked 7.45 this winter. In the 60m hurdles, in-form Finn Nooralotta Neziri faces Christina Clemons and home favourite and European indoor champion Ewa Swoboda takes on Switzerland’s Ajla Del Ponte and Javianne Oliver from the United States in the 60m flat. World leader Femke Bol faces training partners Lieke Klaver and Lea Sprunger as well as European champion Justyna Swiety-Ersetic in a high quality 400m and in-form Elliot Giles will be looking for his third win of the season in the 800m against a line-up which includes reigning world indoor champion Adam Kszczot. Fellow home favourite Marcin Lewandowski takes on Ethiopia’s Selemon Barega and Kenya’s Bethwel Birgen in the 1500m and Beatrice Chepkoech fresh from road World record faces Ethiopians Genzebe Dibaba and Lemlem Hailu in the 3000m. Despite the withdrawal of Armand Duplantis due to injury, three pole vaulters with 6.00m-plus lifetime bests Piotr Lisek, Sam Kendricks and Thiago Braz are due to compete and Italian favorite Gianmarco Tamberi headlines the high jump against fresh World leader Trey Culver. Reigning European indoor champion Michal Haratyk faces teammate Konrad Bukowiecki and Czech Republic’s Tomas Stanek in the shot put. In triple jump best result of the season has Belarus champion Violeta Skvartsova. Ethiopian Habitam Alemu is in the 800 m against improving home runner Angelika Cichocka.
