ADDIS ABABA (ETH, Jan 10): Tsigie Gebreselama took a narrow win in the rescheduled Great Ethiopian Run 10K in 32:33 ahead of Medihen Gebreselasie (32:35) and Gebeyanesh Ayele (32:45). Abe Gashahun won the men’s race in 28:20 from Tadese Worku (28:21) and world U20 cross country champion Milkesa Mengesha (28:40). Usually held in November, the 20th edition of the Great Ethiopian Run was moved to January 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Organisers significantly reduced the size of the mass field from 50,000 to 12,500 runners to comply with the Ethiopian government’s measures. With help from World Athletics.
