DORENA (USA): On his recent 60:22 half marathon in Cottage Grove on Friday, Galen Rupp said: “When this came up I was just pumped and I’m just super grateful to be able to get a race in. I haven’t run with any other person since about 16, 17 miles into the Olympic Trials…my training’s been a little different, just doing some shorter stuff, but I felt coming out that I’m in a great spot, I’m in a great place to really deliver more of a marathon buildup and run this spring,” he said. From the Register-Guard. As USATF informs, Rupp during the race passed the 15 km in 42:47, and then went through 10 miles in 45:54, better than the existing American Record of 46:13, set in 1983 by Greg Meyer at Washington, D.C. From there, Rupp cruised through 20K in 57:17.
