2020 Virgin Money London Marathon

The London Marathon 2020 was exciting!

The womens’ event began at 7.15 AM local, the men’s event began at 10 AM local, and the wheelchair began at 1 pm local.

All 3 events were run at Saint James Park, a 2.195k loop that was done 19 plus times.

The women’s event showed Brigid Kosgei in top condition, and winning a cold, rainy event in 2:18.58. The most amazing finish was that of Sara Hall, who went to second from fifth, setting a PB in 2:22.01, and putting 4 seconds between Sara and Ruth Chepngetich!

The men’s event was a huge upset. Eliud Kipchoge, the defending champion, fell off the pace at 40, and 4 athletes battled until 3 minutes to

go, as Shura Kitata battled Vincent KIpchumba, Shura Kitata won in 2:05.41 with Vincent Kipchumba in 2:05.42 and Sisay Lemma, 2:05.45.
