ULM (GER): After two seasons of injury, European decathlon champion Arthur Abele has resumed in full training again and he reports his training is “going wonderfully,” informs Leichtathletik.de. “I’m already at full throttle. It’s going wonderfully. We had small problems beforehand, especially with the Achilles tendon, but that has since developed very well. I can do tempo runs without stopping and I am physically in good shape. I’m more than satisfied with that, especially when it comes to running. In training I was even able to leave Tim Nowak behind me, who is actually number one in the runs in our training group,” he said. Abele is aiming to win a medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo next year and hopes to retire on home soil at the 2022 European Championships in Munich. “That’s the deadline. That’s enough – then I’m really old,” he said.
