Star-studded BAUHAUS gala awaits
There will be a star-studded BAUHAUS gala again in 2020, despite prevailing circumstances. Most of the world’s foremost athletes come to Stockholm Stadium to compete on 23 August.
In pole vault, it is already clear that Swedish superstar Armand Duplantis will come to the competition and he will have really good company in the 2019 world champion, the American Sam Kendricks and the WC 3 Piotr Lisek from Poland.
A battle for the Swedish record
During the ladies’ pole vault, we can expect a really cool duel for the Swedish record between Michaela Meijer and Angelica Bengtsson. This week, Meijer hit a super jump of 4.83 m, which means a new Swedish record. High-class international jumpers will also be present during the BAUHAUS gala. The starting list includes top 5 names from the WC 2019, Katerina Stefandi (3rd), Holly Bradshaw (4th) and Alysha Newman (5th).
Strong starting field in discus
Reigning world champion Daniel Ståhl also faces tough opposition in discus. The competition, which will be part of the Diamond League, includes, for example, Andrius Gudzius and the WC 4 from Romania Alin Firfriica.
