Donavan Brazier wants to challenge the WR set by David Rudisha, in London 2012, with his 1:40.91.
A world record is about all things coming together, in the perfect storm. In London, David Rudisha had it all: supreme fitness, supreme confidence, an incredible field and 80,000 intense athletic fans.
Donavan Brazier will have one, or perhaps, several of those days in his career.
I hope to be there on those special days…

PORTLAND (USA): World champion Donavan Brazier believes he could one day challenge the world 800m record of 1:40.91 which is held by Kenya’s David Rudisha, informs NBC Sports. “I think I definitely have the opportunity. If we’re looking at guys that are currently racing right now, I think I might have the best opportunity to do it,” he said. Brazier won the world title in Doha last year in a US record of 1:42.34.
