The BMW Berlin Marathon has been cancelled. NYCM was cancelled just earlier today. So, in 2020, only Tokyo marathon has been held, but only for the elite field.
What’s next? Chicago has made clear since June 8, 2020, that they can not guarantee what will happen at the 2020 Chicago Marathon as of yet. London is still holding on.

The only marathon that seems to have a shot is Hamburg, which could happen on September 14, 2020.
I can not see them happening, too much concern with Covid-19 pandemic as of yet.
This is such a difficult decision for marathon event staff, sponsors, local governments, and federal governments.
The sad thing is that, due to politics, science is being mocked, and this is a dangerous time. Please be careful. Social distancing saves lives. Washing hands save lives. Staying at home, if you can, saves lives. Wearing a mask saves lives. It is not a freedom of speech issue, it is a freedom from dumbness and death.
Be vigilant. Stay safe.
Berlin cancelled
BERLIN (GER): The BMW Berlin Marathon, which was set to take place on 26-27 September, has been cancelled. Events in Germany with more than 5000 participants are currently not permissible under coronavirus restrictions until 24 October. Organisers looked at various options for staging the race. “A comprehensive feasibility analysis showed that an event such as the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON could not be held under the current specifications also not after October 24, especially not with the high expectations we all have for this event,” said organisers. Jürgen Lock, managing director of organisers SCC EVENTS, said: “Due to the weather conditions alone and the ever shorter days, it would be very difficult to hold the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON with its various competitions and event formats this year. Then there is the uncertainty about which regulations will apply at a later date. The question of whether athletes will be able to travel internationally again by then can also not yet be answered.”
