USTER (SUI, Jun 26): Helen Bekele from Ethiopia was the winner of the 10 000 m race here in 32:12.49 PB. Second placer European steeple medalist Fabienne Schlumpf debuted at the distance with good 32:16.37 and won the Swiss title. Guests dominated in men´s race. Austrian Andreas Vojta won in 28:30.28 PB over German Simon Boch 28:31.94 PB and Belgian Michael Somers 28:59.39. Fourth best Swiss, the top marathon runner Tadesse Abraham with 29:17.70 and the national title. Women steeple (non championships event) was won by German Elena Burkard in 9:53.67.
