Athletic meetings continue to be held in Central Europe, and after Sweden, Norway and the Czech republic, Poland is holding events. Poland is crazy about athletics. Justyna Swiety-Ersetic, the 2018 European Athletics Champion at 400m, is a very popular athlete in her home country. Justyna opened with a 300m this past weekend, showing a high level of fitness.

CHORZOW (POL, Jun 20): Polish season started with the opening meet at Slaski Stadium as Wojciech Nowicki won hammer with 78.52 second best 2020 and Katarzyna Furmanek 71.02 PB. European champion Justyna Swiety-Ersetic won women 300 m in 37.05 WL (she was also second in the 100 m with 12.10 and paced Jozwik in the 600 m until the 400 m mark) ahead of Natalia Kaczmarek 37.49, Joanna Jozwik topped 600 m in 1:27.90. Konrad Bukowiecki again beat Michal Haratyk in shot put with 20.63 to 20.12. Pawel Wojciechowski cleared 545 in the pole vault. In sprints, Karol Zalewski clocked 32.87 in the 300 m and Rafal Omelko 46.05 in the 400 m. U20 sprinter Oliwer Wdowik won the 100 m and 200 m in 10.51 PB (-0.6) and 21.30 (+0.2).
