Mo Farah wins his last Diamond League 5000m, 2017, photo by Diamondleague.com
We have missed Mo Farah racing on the track. I was there in August 2017 for the Weltklasse, and it was, well, fantastic. The hour distance is alot of fun. If you are really fit, the hour can be totally cool. Can Mo get the World record at one hour? Can not wait to see!

BRUSSELS (BEL): The Brussels Diamond League on 4 September won’t take place in its usual format this year due to current restrictions but the event will still be highlighted by the presence of reigning world and Olympic champions as well as two one hour world record attempts. In the men’s one hour, four-time Olympic champion Mo Farah and training partner Bashir Abdi will challenge Haile Gebrselassie’s world record of 21.285km while Ethiopians Ababel Yeshaneh and Birhane Dibaba will attempt to break Dire Tune’s world record of 18.517km in the women’s race. Both current World records were achieved at Ostrava Golden Spike meeting in 2007 and 2008. Another highlight will be a three-event head-to-head between world heptathlon champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Olympic heptathlon champion Nafi Thiam across the 100m hurdles, shot put and high jump. Elsewhere, Armand Duplantis will compete in the pole vault against Ben Broeders and the Borlee brothers are confirmed for an all-European 200m. “We hope that it will be possible to welcome a few thousand of fans. We will be prepared for it by taking all the necessary measures to guarantee everybody’s health and safety. Exact figures depend on the measures that federal and local authorities have decided at the time being, but organisers are confident that they can accommodate about 9000 spectators in a safe and secure way,” said meeting organiser Cedric Van Branteghem.
