PRAHA (CZE, Jun 8): Some early good results and several European leads 2020 highlighted the 27th edition of Josef Odlozil Memorial in solid weather at Juliska Stadium in Prague. It was the first World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meeting after coronavirus break and was held in the regime of maximum of 500 people in the stadium but live broadcasted by Czech Television. Legendary Jan Zelezny as coach was happy to see Nikola Ogrodnikova winning women javelin with season best 64.22 in last round. “Happy with third best mark of the season, but I want to throw more so we will see later in the season,” she said. On the men side Jakub Vadlejch won with 83.78. “It is not bad, but tough to find the right motivation, my next meet will come in August,” said Vadlejch. Second Petr Frydrych got for first time 80+ this year with 81.22 and the third thrower from Zelezny´s group Jaroslav Jilek achieved 78.99. Czech record holders showed good early shape. Radek Juska leaped after two years again 8 meters in long jump with 803 (+1.5), Petr Svoboda clocked 13.70 (+0.6) in the hurdles and Jan Veleba achieved fast 10.21 (+0.8) in the 100m. Here second European indoor champion Slovak Jan Volko 10.25. In the 200 m indoor king Pavel Maslak had the best finish in 20.82 (-0.4) over Volko 20.86 and third Jiri Polak with surprise improvement to 20.88. Austrian Andreas Vojta won the Memorial event 1500 m in 3:42.94. Diana Mezulianikova beat the field in women´s 800 m in 2:04.68 ahead of Slovak Iveta Putalova 2:05.80 and 400 m runner Lada Vondrova 2:06.34. Nikola Bendova clocked 11.74 (+0.8) in the 100 m and Amalie Svabikova cleared 420 in the pole vault.
