OSLO (NOR, Jun 11): Wanda Diamond League 2020 started with Impossible Games at Bislett Stadium with some top marks. No spectators but 100+ countries broadcasted this special evening which was quiet at the tribune but hot on the track. Jakob Ingebrigtsen clocked European record in the 2000 m Maurie Plant Memorial Race 4:50.01 ahead of brothers Henrik 4:53.72 PB and Filip 4:56.91 PB. In Nairobi Timothy Cheruiyot led his team in 5:03.05 over Edwin Melly 5:13.12 and Elijah Manangoi 5:18.63. Filip less than one hour before won the 1000 m in Norwegian record and World leading 2:16:46. Very special 300 m hurdles in lane 7 in a solo effort 33.78 by Karsten Warholm, all time best mark 34.48 improved by huge margin. Sondre Nordstad Moen won the 25 000 m in European record 1:12.46.5 (second best ever on the track) and in the process bettered Norwegian records at 20 000 m 57:55.0 and 1 hour 20 703 m. Ski star Therese Johaug improved in 10 000 m solo to 31:40.67 PB and WL, on the other side Karoline Bjerkeli Grovdal did not finish the 3000 m effort due to an injury. 600 m in lanes saw Hedda Hynne attacking from inside to win in 1:29.06 over Swiss record holder Selina Buchel 1:30.10. 2016 European Champion Sara Slott Petersen clocked Danish all-time best 39.42 in the 300 m hurdles to beat Amalie Iuel 39.44 and Lea Sprunger 39.86. 400hurdler Line Kloster beat sprint hurdlers from Finland in the 200 m hurdles with Norwegian all-time best 26.11. Second Nooralotta Neziri 26.65 Finnish all-time best ahead of Annimari Korte 26.70 and Isabelle Pedersen 28.11. Para record holder Salum Kashafali clocked 10.59 in the 100 m (+0.2).
