Dafne Schippers was a fine heptathlete, but, due to injuries, moved to the sprints. Her golds in the 200m in 2015 and 2017 at World Champs, her 8 medals in Euro Champs (4 golds, 3 silver and a bronze) and a silver Olympic medal are but half of her major championship medals. How will 2020 ring out? Dafne hopes that means some events to race at…
UTRECHT (NED): Former two-time world 200m champion Dafne Schippers is hopeful of a late summer athletics season, informs the New Indian Express. “Normally, I would have to be ready for outdoor races now. We were planning on starting the season end of May. With the Diamond League meets and several others, my schedule would have been packed by now, with a lot of travelling and races and trying to grow into the season. I hope the renewed season will take place by August, but nobody knows for sure. So this all means the focus has shifted. There still will be an Olympics so there is still that moment to focus on. The main difference is that we have some more time to work on the details,” she said.
