Mary Keitany is one of the finest women marathoners of all times. Her amazing performances and gutty races have captivated fans and the sport for years. Coming back from injuries, Mary Keitany is building to another big race…
NAIROBI (KEN): Former New York and London marathon winner Mary Keitany says she needs just four months of good training to be competitive after being blighted by a hip injury. The women-only marathon world record-holder has been treating the hip injury since finishing fifth in London last year. She told nation.co.ke: “I was supposed to compete this year in the Boston Marathon but I had to cancel in February because I could not prepare adequately. I saw it wise to take a break this season. For a major marathon which is always competitive, I need four months of good training so that I can gun for a win. We hope by then the virus will have been contained and business back to normal especially in USA which has been seriously hit.”
