Svein Arne Hansen had a stroke just over a month ago. The energetic EA President is in the thoughts and prayers of friends, family, athletes, coaches and fans of European Athletics. A Norwegian sports site provided an update on his condition earlier today.

EA President condition is stable
OSLO (NOR): The condition of Svein Arne Hansen (73), president of European Athletics is stable following the stroke and subsequent complications. Informs vg.no. The newspaper reported based on informations recieved from his son Philip Wilkens (42) who is a chiropractor. The son says that the doctors now characterize Svein Arne Hansen’s condition as stable, but also that there is a long way to go before he will be satisfactorily recovered. “It is sad. But I’m optimistic now. I think there is hope,” he said.
