Karston Warholm surprised all but himself and his coach when he won the 400m hurdles in London 2017. The former 400m specialist moved to the 400m hurdles and took to them well. His 2018 and 2019 seasons showed just how good he is. The fans in Norway will sure get a treat with his WR attempt at 300m hurdles on June 11, at the Impossible Games, where athletics and the current pandemic find a compromise.

ULSTEINVIK (NOR): On attempting the world 300m hurdles best at the Impossible Games in Oslo in June, Karsten Warholm said: “It is a world record [attempt], but at the same time it is at an alternative distance,. But I thought it fits very well into such a concept. It is always fun to write in the history books, it is a bit of an extra pleasure to have reached this level. I’m going to miss everything that makes Bislett Games the Bislett Games, the mood fans create. That is why I have to take a record that hangs a little lower down the tree, but which is difficult and a challenge, so I think we have found a very nice middle way here,” he said. The Impossible Games were launched yesterday to replace the Bislett Games which cannot take place in their usual format due to the COVID-19 outbreak. From NRK.
