B. Kosgei in first race after WR
SAO PAULO (BRA, Dec 31): In her first race since shattering the world marathon record in the Chicago Marathon, Kenya’s Brigid Kosgei won the 95th Sao Silvestre 15K in Sao Paulo in 48:54 by more than one minute from teammate Sheila Chelangat in 50:10. Kenya’s Kibiwott Kandie outsprinted Uganda’s long-time leader Jacob Kiplimo in the men’s race, 42:59 to 43:00. Fellow Kenyan Titus Ekiru was third in 43:54.
