WUHAN (CHN, Oct 22): South American record holder and Doha fourth placer in shot put Darlan Romani showed still top shape with 22.36 win at the 7th CISM Military World Games. During first day of athletics, he achieved his third best mark ever and also Chinese all-comers record. Second Konrad Bukowiecki 21.84 and third Bob Bertemes from Luxembourg 20.66. World champion Salwa Aid Naser from Bahrain won the 400 m in 50.15 meet record beating Polina Miller 51.49 and Justyna Swiety-Ersetic 52.19. Another top mark in women steeple as Winfred Yavi from Bahrain clocked 9:19.24 beating Slovenian record holder Marusa Mismas 9:24.47 and Albanian record holder Luiza Gega 9:26.35. Only fourth best Kenyan Mercy Gitahi 9:39.58. Third gold for Bahrain by Abbas Abubakar Abbas in men´s 400 m in 45.84. Iran´s Hassan Taftian topped the 100 m in 10.24 (-0.5) over Brazilian Paulo Andre Oliveira 10.32 and French Amaury Golitin 10.35. But in women´s 100 m gold for France as Carolle Zahi was the best in 11.36 (+0.4) beating Brazilians Rosangela Santos 11.39 and Vitoria Rosa 11.40. Doha bronze medalist Ilya Ivanyuk won the high jump on count-back over 2017 World medalist Majed Aldin Ghazal from Syria, both 220. World bronze medalist Wang Zheng from China was the best in women hammer with 69.34 over Slovak record holder Martina Hrasnova 68.89 and Poland´s Malwina Kopron 67.12.
